Tango, Soccer, the Pope and Choripan

If one thinks about Argentina nowadays several things come to mind: Tango, Soccer and the Pope. These and other icons come together in Caminito: a street in La Boca neighborhood, a great place for street and travel photography.

If you google “La Boca Buenos Aires” you come up with a good introduction to this colorful location:

“La Boca is a working-class area with a cluster of attractions near the Riachuelo River. Steakhouses and street artists surround Caminito, a narrow alley flanked by brightly painted zinc shacks that evoke the district’s early immigrant days. A cauldron of noise on match days, La Bombonera is the home ground of Boca Juniors soccer team.”

This is my second post about Buenos Aires: a Photoessay shot entirely with a cameraphone: an iPhone 7. You can read the first one here.

Caminito is named after a very nostalgic song. Listen to classic argentinian singer Carlos Gardel in Youtube singing it by clicking here.

Do you also prefer a cameraphone for street/travel photography in cities?

  1. What a great collection Eduardo! My favourite is your cover shot – the man with the accordion with the lady portrait on the wall looking at him. Perfect composition! Also like the shot of the Tango Dance + girl taking a photo!
